Fall 2021 Move-In for Returning Students

Housing & Residential Life does its very best to make the process as easy and simple as possible in order to help get all residents settled into their new home away from home.

As you make your preparations to arrive on campus, please review the information below regarding your move-in appointment, our partnerships with numerous vendors, a list of items to consider bringing with you to campus, and more.

Move-In Appointments

Returning students will be assigned a specific move-in day to arrive on campus based on your housing assignment. Students who were previously remote should arrive on Thursday, August 19 regardless of their housing assignment, but will follow the same move-in process as returning students.

We are unable to accept requests for early move-in.

Floors 2 and 4

  • Odd-numbered rooms: Thursday, August 19
  • Even-number rooms: Friday, August 20

Floor 3

  • Odd-numbered rooms: Friday, August 20
  • Even-number rooms: Saturday, August 21

Example: If you live in ERC424, you will move in on Friday, August 20.

Floors 2 and 5

  • A bedrooms: Thursday, August 19
  • B bedrooms: Friday, August 20
  • C and D bedrooms: Saturday, August 21

Floors 3 and 6

  • A bedrooms: Friday, August 20
  • B bedrooms: Saturday, August 21
  • C and D bedrooms: Thursday, August 19

Floor 4

  • A bedrooms: Saturday, August 21
  • B bedrooms: Thursday, August 19
  • C and D bedrooms: Friday, August 20

Example: If you live in LSV-3055D, you will move in on Thursday, August 19.

Specific information about arriving to campus, checking in, and parking will be available later this summer.

In addition to the suggested packing list below, remember to view specific information about each of our residential areas, including room layouts, included amenities, and more. You should also consult our Guide to Living on Campus to become familiar with our policies and procedures for living on campus.

  • Microwave and/or mini-fridge (note that appliances are included in LSV and UV kitchens/kitchenettes)
  • Coffee maker (only machines with no open heat element)

The University has ended its partnership with BedLoft (including its MicroFridge rental program) and will no longer allow students to loft their beds. 

  • Candles and incense (used or unused)

  • Outdoor grills (charcoal or propane)
  • Items with an open heating element (i.e. George Foreman Grills)
  • Pets (Other than fish in a 10-gallon tank or less)
  • Extension cords

  • Beer pong table, funnel, kegs, etc. (regardless of age)
  • Alcohol
  • Non-prescription drugs
  • "Hoverboards"

Personal property insurance is strongly recommended should any valuable belongings become stolen or damaged. Students can opt-in to the University-sponsored insurance provided by GradGuard through the On-Campus Housing Portal.

LAUNDRY SERVICE

ONGOING
Tide Cleaners is the only approved laundry service for resident students. Drop-off lockers are in Hecht, Mahoney/Pearson, Eaton, and Lakeside Village. Clothes will be washed, dried, and folded, and dry-cleaning services are also available.

Shipping Packages to Campus

Campus Housing Portal

Your on-campus housing assignment, roommate information, and move-in appointment time are always available in your On-Campus Housing Portal, which is accessible via CaneLink.

To view details about your on-campus housing assignment in the portal:

1. Log in to CaneLink and select the On-Campus Housing Portal link on the landing page.

2. Once inside the housing portal, select Application.

3. Your assignment is listed within the box titled Academic Year 2021-2022.

Select Continue and then advance to the Application Summary page to view more details about your assignment and to contact any roommate(s)/suitemate(s) from within the portal.
