Winter Intersession Housing

On-campus housing is available for resident students who would like to live on campus for any portion of the winter intersession period, regardless of their enrollment in any intersession courses. However, Winter Intersession Housing is only available to students who are residing in on-campus housing for the following spring semester. Therefore, students who are leaving housing at the end of the preceding fall semester are not eligible.

Application

All resident students who want to remain in on-campus housing for any or all of the winter intersession period(s) will need to apply. More information on the application process is available on the Housing Portal via CaneLink.


Winter Intersession 2020-2021

Winter Intersession A: November 24, 2020, to December 11, 2020
No additional cost

  • Meant for students who need housing until the fall 2020 semester ends
  • All residential areas will remain open
  • No additional cost
  • Residents who are only in Winter Intercession A must check out on December 11, 2020 by noon.

Winter Intersession B: December 11, 2020, to January 18, 2021
Rate: $1150

  • Meant for students who need housing once the fall 2020 semester ends through the start of the spring 2021 semester.
  • Only the University Village, Lakeside Village, and Mahoney and Pearson residential colleges will be open.
  • Residents living in Eaton, Hecht, and Stanford residential colleges who sign-up for Winter Intersession B housing must move to a temporary assignment in Mahoney or Pearson, which will be made by the HRL assignments staff.
  • The full rate must be paid for any length of stay within this time; the amount will not be prorated.
  • Cost does not apply to residents of Lakeside and University Village though they must submit the application to continue to live in their apartments over the break period. 

Mail and Packages

The UPS Store will have adjusted operating hours during the intercession period. The UPS Store hours of operation from Monday, November 30, 2020 – Sunday, January 17, 2021 will be:

  • Monday – Friday: 10am-6pm
  • Saturday - Sunday: 10am-4pm
  • The UPS Store will be closed on November 26, December 24, December 25, December 31, and January 1

Students should only have packages sent to The UPS Store if they are physically on campus for the intercession period. Students should continue to use the correct mailing address, including their virtual mailbox number which is visible on the Housing Portal via CaneLink.
