Residential Communities
Housing & Residential Life offers on-campus housing in five residential colleges and the University Village for approximately 4,300 University of Miami undergraduate students. All freshmen students are required to live in University housing for two academic semesters, with the exception of those who live with their parents or guardians within Dade or Broward counties.
The University of Miami's Residential Colleges support and enhance student learning and engagement through interactions with live-in faculty and student affairs staff, as well as a wide range of programming, seminars, lectures, field trips, and recreational activities throughout the academic year.
Our department's mission is to provide safe, clean, well-maintained, service-oriented, efficiently managed, friendly, caring, and fairly priced student housing communities that promote academic success, civic engagement, personal and professional development, as well as critical and innovative thinking.
In keeping with the University’s vision to become an exemplary and excellent institution, it is embarking on a multi-phase housing plan to improve its current housing offerings for students. In doing so, the University will meet student – and parent – needs, and expectations as the institution continues to attract brighter and more talented students.
The Division of Student Affairs engages, supports, and develops students and the University community by providing exemplary services, programs, and facilities as we foster a caring and inclusive environment. We will develop and challenge all students to become engaged citizens in a diverse and global society.
