Finish Strong

Residential Faculty host this final preparatory program during reading days and finals at the end of the semester. Throughout Finish Strong, invited Faculty from around the institution host various course-specific review sessions. Courses covered usually have high-impact final exams and have a large portion of our residential population enrolled. During the evenings, Finish Strong hosts late-night study groups that are supported by tutors and Faculty volunteers.

Pancakes with Pat

Dr. Patricia A. Whitely hosts her signature event “Pancakes with Pat” on a regular basis throughout the academic year. The event is sponsored by Housing and Residential Life and always gathers a huge crowd of hungry students. Each event features different guests and helps students get to know people and resources that will help them be successful at the U!

SportsFest

SportsFest began in the Spring semester of 1986 when the “Honors Residential College” (Hecht) challenged “The Residential College” (Stanford) to a sporting contest. As additional residential colleges were added they were invited to participate. SportsFest, a collaborative effort among the Division of Student Affairs, the Department of Wellness & Recreation, and the Department of Housing & Residential Life, builds a sense of community among students and strives to develop teamwork and sportsmanship skills. The event brings together 2,000 members of the UM community for a weekend of recreational sports and other activities.
