What is a First Year Fellow?

First Year Fellows (FYFs) are student leaders who serve in residential colleges that support students with the academic transition to college, assist with general academic planning and advising questions, connect students to campus resources, and serve as an academic peer mentor.

Information Sessions

All those looking to apply for a First Year Fellow position for the upcoming academic year must attend an information session. In this session, you will learn about the position and have an opportunity to ask any questions about the application process and position.

*During virtual information sessions, all candidates are expected to have their camera on and be visible. Participants will not be permitted to join the session once the presentation begins. It is suggested to log in a few minutes early to test your technology and change your screen name to your C# and Cane ID, (C12345678, TST123).

These optional events are open to all candidates, but do not replace required attendance at one of the mandatory information sessions.

How do I apply?

After attending a mandatory information session, candidates will receive a personalized email to the application form and further instructions. All application submissions will be due one week from time instructions are given.

Please see the sample application from previous years below to prepare as you will not be able to restart an application once you begin.
