About Intern Housing

The University of Miami's Summer Intern Housing Program allows summer interns to have flexible move-in and move-out dates and free them from worrying about furnishing a room or finding a lease/sublet for the summer. Minutes from the Metrorail and central to US-1, the University of Miami is an ideal location for those coming to Miami for the summer.

Interns participating in the program can expect to have:

Room Options and Amentities

Interns are able to select from the following room options: a single with a private bath, a double occupancy room as part of a suite with a shared bath, a single occupancy room as part of a suite with a shared bathroom.

Offering a wide range of complimentary amenities including cable and internet, interns can take advantage of our inclusive residential experience. All of the following are included with your room rental at no additional cost:

In addition to offering budget-friendly accommodations in one of UM’s on-campus residential areas, our summer program also offers interns engaging events and activities so they can explore Miami while meeting fellow interns from across the country.


Eligibility

Proof of Age

All applicants for summer intern housing must be 18 years of age or older by the scheduled check-in date. To prove that you are 18 years of age or older, an original government issued ID will be required.

Enrollment at Home Institution

Intern housing is available to undergraduate or graduate students who are enrolled in a degree-seeking program at their home institution (or will be enrolled at an institution for Fall 2018).

Proof of Internship

To prove a student's employment status, please provide a signed letter from the hiring company’s Human Resources department or a signed statement from the supervisor. A qualifying internship can be paid, un-paid, for credit or not-for credit and must be sponsored by the applicant’s institution of current enrollment and demonstrate a significant professional or educational experience for the participant.

Health Insurance

Applicants may be required to provide proof of their health insurance when applying for housing. If you are using college or university insurance, please make sure that this will cover you during your stay at the University of Miami.
